Welcome! I'm So Glad You're Here

What if you could emerge from this time of crisis feeling calmer, more at home in your body, and more confident in your ability to navigate change?

Life is beautiful, but let’s be honest — it’s also a lot. Even the good things (a new baby, a new job, a new chapter) can leave you overwhelmed and wondering if you’re doing it wrong. And the hard stuff,  grief, trauma, burnout, parenting, endings,  can leave you feeling like you’re barely holding it together. You’re not alone.

I work with adults, couples, parents, caregivers and elders navigating all kinds of transitions, pain points, and “what now?” moments. Whether you’re grieving, overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or just plain tired, this is a place where you can breathe, exhale, and be real.

My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and rooted in neuroscience, experience, and heart. With over 25 years in mental health, I bring a big toolkit. I have a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP) with certificates in Integrated Body Psychotherapy, Family Mediation and Clinical Supervision. I am a certified End of Life Doula with 25+ years of experience as a Hospice Counsellor and Volunteer. I have advanced training in IBP, EFT, IFS, EFFT, DBT, EFIT, CBT, MI, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 & 2, and more but what matters most is you. Together, we’ll tailor our work to meet your unique needs, your pace, and your story.

We’ll listen to the body as well as the brain, honour your cultural roots, hold space for what’s hard, and rediscover what’s still possible. There will be tears. There will be laughs. There may be snacks. All parts of you are welcome.

The Heart Behind the Work

I’m the daughter of Jamaican and British parents, and a biracial immigrant to Canada. That journey with all its nuance, complexity, and beauty deeply shapes how I show up in this work. I know firsthand how culture, identity, and belonging shape our stories. My practice is rooted in inclusivity, humility, and deep respect for the many ways we move through the world. This isn’t just theory to me — it’s lived experience.

While I take this work seriously, I also believe in levity, in the magic that shows up in everyday moments, and in the little joys that help us survive the big stuff.

I’m a lover of people, stories, laughter, and the tender, messy, miraculous work of becoming. And every now and then, a full day of silence is a sacred gift.
Nothing fills my heart more than time spent with my family.

Whether you’re a couple trying to reconnect, a parent navigating the hardest job on earth, or someone wrestling with loss, identity, or change. I’m here to walk beside you with compassion, curiosity, and zero judgment.

Ashé means the power to make meaningful change and I believe that power lives in you.

Let’s begin, right where you are.

Els Patterson

Clinical Intern

Hello and welcome!

Reaching out for support is a brave step, and I am glad you are here.

My name is Els. I provide a space for slowing down and moving into next moments with calm and clarity, particularly in an overwhelming and fast-paced world.

I work with people of all ages who are navigating change, stress, grief, identity shifts, relational pain, burnout, overwhelm, attachment wounds, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation. My counselling space is LGBTQI+ friendly, as well as neurodivergence-affirming. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens in relation, and that the results of trauma, while painful, are also areas where healing can take root.

My approach is somatic, emotion-focused, and client-led. I am undertaking training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and am a Master of Counselling Psychology student with an undergraduate degree in Psychology.

Within the therapeutic space, we will co-create an environment where your nervous system can relax and sessions move at your pace. As the client, I believe that you hold wisdom, and I will provide an environment where that wisdom may surface and be explored.

In my practice, all parts of you are welcome.

I hope to walk beside my clients as they explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences – be that through talking, feeling, venting, or just sitting quietly while we figure things out.
